November 15 - Wings of War

November 13th, 2008

Wings of War is a game series which merges card and board game mechanics to recreate aerial combat. The first series of Wings of War games focus on the “knights of the air” age, World War I, portraying the abilities of the fighting planes of this period.

In this gaming event, players will perform classic aerial maneuvers and bring their guns to bear on the other pilots in order to score points each time they hit their opponent.  Each participant receives their own Wings of War mini which they will use during the event.  Players of all skill levels are invited to participate.  Instruction will take less than 5 minutes for absolute beginners.

When: 6pm - 8pm on Saturday, November 15

Participation Fee: $20 per player.  Each participant gets a single seat mini to use in the event and take home at the end of the evening.  All participants receive a 15% discount off all Wings of War purchases throughout the evening.

Prizes: Prize support depends on participation.  If we have 6 participants, 1st place will receive either a copy of Wings of War or any two Wings of War minis.  2nd place will receive any one Wings of War mini.  Prize support will scale up or down according to the level of participation.

Please call for more details.

BOO!!!

Pack up the costumed kiddies, whip up a tasty pot luck dish (to serve about eight) & come on down to Main Street in Waynesboro for a fun evening of board games, costume prizes, food & good friends. Bring your favorite family games or plan to try something completely different (we have lots to play here!)  We have a special Halloween play presented by John Shindeldecker, tasty pot luck dishes and some great Halloween themed game demos!

If you are interested in attending, please call to let us know how many ghosties and goblins are in your party and what goulish dish you will bring for the pot luck. We only have enough space to accommodate about 30 guests.  Please RSVP promptly so we can plan accordingly.

Bella Sara Collectors Club

October 21st, 2008

Neverland Games is very proud to offer an event tailored to Bella Sara collectors.

What we need to know is who has interest in attending a monthly meeting for collectors to meet and trade with others.  If you are a Bella Sara card collector or know one, please let us know which night works best for you.  Right now, we have three very interested individuals who would love to come out to meet others with the same Bella Sara collectible card interest.  I know there are several of you collectors out there, so don’t be shy!  I will see if I can get Hidden City Games to send us some special promo cards specifically for participants.  As with most of our other special events, participants enjoy 10% off Bella Sara products during the meetings.

Stock Market Woes? Let’s Play Pit!

October 10th, 2008

If you are tired of watching the stock market drop day after day, please turn off the TV, close down your internet news site of choice, put down the financial section and plan to come out on October 15th (Wednesday) from 6pm-8pm for an evening of Pit.  If you aren’t familiar with the game, it amounts to trading cards from your hand with the other players until one person has cornered a particular market by having all of the cards in that market’s suit.  Pit is a fun, loud, fast paced card game for ages 6-adult.  You can find out what others think of the game at boardgamegeek.com.

All are welcome and there is no fee to play.  We just want to provide a way for you to take your mind of the economy for a couple hours and have some free fun.

Monsterpocalypse is here!

From the Monsterpocalypse website…

“Monsterpocalypse is a fast-moving, action-packed strategy game played with high-quality collectible miniatures portraying the most fearsome giant monsters on Earth! Each battle takes place in a city that you and your opponent construct by placing buildings on a city map. Players choose their forces from their respective collections of figures and then battle one another with giant monsters and supporting units such as tanks, flying vehicles, and all manner of creatures. Charge your monster into the city to fight for supremacy, and be the last monster standing!”

This game looks fantastic!  We have plenty of product on hand to get lots of players up and running with their favorite figures.  Head over to the Monsterpocalypse website for more information about the game and lots of neat pics, then come in for a live demo!

We are open!

June 26th, 2008

small version of promo image

Horay!!!

We opened our doors on March 25th, 2008 and held a grand opening on May 10th. I’ve been meaning to post pics and news bits since then, but I never think about it at the most opportune moment. So, I keep putting it off until the next inopportune moment.

The Record Herald in Waynesboro and The Herald Mail in Hagerstown have recently written some fantastic articles about Neverland Games. The community has been extremely receptive to our product offerings and planned gaming events. The game room is very near completion. Our back door should be here next week and the plans for our handicap access is in the approval process. We can’t wait to open the room to the public for family game nights as well as game-specific tournaments and events.
